It’s been awhile since I can recall being this excited about a sophomore album, but this one has me so happy I can HEAR myself jumping for joy. Zara McFarlane‘s release of If You Knew Her on January 20, follow-up to her 2011 Brownswood Recordings debut Until Tomorrow, is preceded by a funk remix release by Yoruba Soul of Angie LaLa feat. Leron Thomas and the 2012 video of the cover Police & Thieves.
Zara proved her chops as a jazz vocalist on her initial album; on this effort we get to experience her opulent vocals over an abundance of musical stylings crossing boundaries of genre with ease.
